Prof. Louisa Murdin

Consultant in Audio Vestibular Medicine

Professor Louisa Murdin is a Consultant in Audiovestibular Medicine and Neuro-otology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and an Honorary Associate Professor at University College London. She specializes in hearing and balance disorders, with a particular focus on migraine, Ménière’s disease, and noise-induced hearing loss. With degrees from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Neuro-otology from UCL, she has authored textbook chapters, is an active researcher in vestibular disorders, and serves on key committees in her field.

Bio

Professor Louisa Murdin is a Consultant in Audiovestibular Medicine and Neuro-otology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Associate Professor in Audiovestibular Medicine at the Ear Institute of University College London, and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. She has interests in all aspects of neuro-otology, hearing and balance disorders, with special interest in migraine, Meniere’s disease and medical aspects of hearing disorders including noise induced hearing loss.

She qualified in Medicine and Surgery (BM BCh) and has a BA in Physiological Sciences both awarded by the University of Oxford and an MSc in Audiovestibular Medicine from University College London awarded with distinction in 2006, and a PhD in Neuro-otology awarded by the Institute of Neurology, University College London.

 

She has authored several textbook chapters in recent years and is a research active member of the prestigious Barany Society for international research into vestibular disorders and currently also serves on the Executive Committee of the British Society for Neuro-otology and the National Institute of Health Research ENT Clinical Research Specialty Group.
